Work to transform Shrewsbury town centre nears completion
he current phase of work to improve pavements, crossing points, roadsigns, street furniture and road surfaces in Shrewsbury town centre is nearing completion, with paving work being completed and new street furniture installed. The remaining work will see any remaining areas of paving completed along with the installation of benches and seats, planters, bins and cycle racks. It's part of the Shrewsbury Integrated Transport Package - a £12million externally-funded programme of improvement work in and around Shrewsbury town centre. in Brixton Way, it was built in 2007 and is home to tenants including
British Heart Foundation, Poundstretcher and Charlie’s Stores. The
estate, which provides a net initial yield of 8.7 per cent, is arranged
across nine units in two terraces with 176 car parking spaces to the
front.

England figures show that 10,196 patients attended the emergency
departments at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital in
Telford during March. It compares to 8,389 patient attendances in March 2020, which had fallen from 10,945 in the previous month.

Over 40s in Shropshire can book Covid jab as rollout continuesText messages are now going out to 40 and 41-year-olds in the county,
allowing them to arrange a jab through the national booking service. Around two-thirds of those aged 45-49 in the county have now received
their first jab, while almost 108,000 people had received their second
dose of the vaccine at the end of last week.
